About us
BMCI, primarily a professional training and consultancy firm based in Thimphu is run as a social enterprise.
BMCI provides a wide range of trainings suited for both experienced professionals who wish to hone their skills or inexperienced individuals who will be working in a new field and need to expand their skills in media fraternity.
Training programmes are developed to suit the needs of the local market. The spectrum of training covers not only news media but also areas such as film, public relations and communications.

BMCI's first priority is social impact. It strives to make a difference to people’s lives through unique experiences, self-empowerment, knowledge sharing and professional trainings.
BMCI has partnered with a number of international organisatons such as Thomson Reuters Foundation (UK), AFP Foundation (France), International Media Support (Denmark), UNESCO, ICIMOD, CUTS International, ICDL Asia, APTECH, AIBD (Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development), AMIC(Asian Media Information and Communication Centre), Digital Empowerment Foundation, and others.
BMCI was ICIMOD’s official knowledge partner in Bhutan from 2014-2017. In addition, a network of trainers and institutes from various parts of the world is being developed and managed through different forums.
BMCI is making conscious efforts towards aligning its policies, facilities, curriculum and implementation of activities in the most gender-friendly manner.
Inspired by the GNH values, BMCI applies these values through its operation as a social enterprise. The values are reflected from design to delivery of programmes. BMCI was named as one of the local social enterprises where GNH is operational during a presentation in one of the international GNH Conferences in Bhutan.
BMCI is the oraganisational partner with Ability Bhutan Society and our Director is the lifetime member. We wish to empower people with special needs by providing relevant skills and certifications. BMCI has also been involved creating awareness on different types of disabilities so that the general people learn to treat them with respect.
